A dental nurse supports the dentist in all aspects of patient care and requires a knowledge of key business practices, like getting the appropriate instruments ready, mixing materials and ensuring patient comfort. But employers are also looking for much more, such as communication skills, decision-making skills, and how to manage yourself. Additionally, we explore a host of important topics like reception work - making appointments, taking payments, dealing with paperwork and meeting and reassuring patients.
Learners create their own hypothetical scenarios which help them complete topical industry activities and are set in a context that will enthuse and excite them. They are also mapped and complement the mandatory NVQ units.
